After completing my studies at the School of Translation and Interpreting, I took a training course to specialise in medical translation. I have learned about authoritative sources of information in a range of medical specialisms and know who to contact as and when needed. I know my way around the medical maze.
I also apply my other specialisation – editing texts – when translating medical documents. Every comma is in the right place; grammar and spelling errors don’t stand a chance; all the i’s are dotted and all the t’s are crossed. Every translation from English into Dutch leaves my desk in rude health.
Interest in the world of medicine
I am interested in the world of medicine and keep up with the latest developments. In more than one language, of course. The best part of translating informative documents for patients is that I become the link between the world of medicine (often deemed to be complex) and the patient. A clear, unambiguous writing style comes in handy.

Musical translations
Music has always been part of my life. I have played the piano since I was six years old, I heard classical music on a daily basis at home, and at school I wrote essays and gave presentations about the piano and other music-related topics. It came as no surprise that I decided to study classical piano at Conservatorium Maastricht after secondary school.
My musical translations have the right tone (of voice) to resonate and strike the right chord with the target audience. No text should ever have any spelling mistakes, be poorly punctuated or strike a discordant note. My texts sound pure and melodiously engage the audience. It’s the tone that makes the music.
